Hey
Just read this over at The Sun
| Quote: | CINEMA chain Odeon yesterday vowed to boycott Tim Burton's new 3D blockbuster Alice In Wonderland.
It follows Disney's decision to release the DVD 12 weeks after its March 5 opening - rather than the normal 17 weeks.
Odeon and UCI cinema group, which has over 100 UK cinemas, fears the new timeframe will hit cinema audiences and become a benchmark.
It said "We have a full line-up of films. These will now take priority."
The chain will show the film - starring Johnny Depp, 46, as the Mad Hatter - in countries where the normal window is observed.
Disney sources described the 12-week gap as a "healthy run".
It claimed to "remain committed" to theatrical windows with exceptions "on a case-by-case basis".
It is thought the shorter release gap curbs opportunities for piracy. |
Looks like we wont be watching at the Odeon.
